Simple Ingredients, Delicious and Versatile Beverages

Shivelight combines simple ingredients: produce and honey from sustainable, quality Montana farms, organic apple cider vinegar and pure, unfluoridated water. Shivelight shrubs are an incredible base to an array of drinks: Add bubbly water for a healthy, delicious soda or add to a stiff drink for an elevated cocktail. Cheers!

What Makes Our Shrubs Unique?

We are genuine in our simplicity. Because we source such high quality ingredients, we don’t need to compensate for low quality ingredients. No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives whatsoever. The finest fruit and honey from Montana’s farmers and beekeepers provide the flavor. Organic apple cider vinegar provides the natural preservative. Shivelight is simply an exceptional shrub and drinking vinegar.

What Is A Shrub Drink?

Shrub drinks date back to early European settlements where they were considered medicinal as well as the soft drinks of the day. We follow the traditional recipe calling for local fruit, a touch of sugar and apple cider vinegar. Shivelight uses soley local honey as our sweetener.

The magic of shrub drinks is the addition of apple cider vinegar. From a holistic (and customer) point of view, drinking apple cider vinegar encourages a healthy environment in your digestive tract. It encourages healthy probiotics to flourish and helps your body clear out stagnant toxins. Flavor wise, you are getting a drink that tastes fruity and sour, with a touch of caramel notes of the honey. The versatility of shrubs is a welcome addition in bubbly water or a fantastic balance to the bitterness of alcohol in an artesian cocktail.

A Tasty Drinking Vinegar Shrub

The secret of our unparalleled quality and taste is our genuine simplicity. We honor Montana’s agricultural heritage by showcasing produce from our local, hardworking farmers. Wild huckleberries overlooking pristine mountainscapes. Bold cherries flourishing on the banks of Flathead Lake. Sweet ginger ripening in the warmth of Montana sunshine. Fragrant apples maturing in the fresh air of Montana’s magical Bitterroot Valley. Abundant bees dancing with immaculate wildflowers. Shivelight shrubs are more than a perfect balance of tart and sweet. They are a bottle of Montana at its finest.

Cocktail Syrups Vs. Shrubs

We highly recommend using Shivelight as a cocktail mixer. Shivelight cocktails are easy, wholesome, and sure to impress. Shivelight’s honey adds complexity to the cocktail. The tartness of the vinegar balances the bitterness of alcohol. Viola, a refreshing, delicious cocktail!

Cocktail syrups balance the bitterness of alcohol with sugar. Flavors are added for variety to the sugar base. Overdoing sugar in a cocktail can be quite alright. But for those seeking a drink that tastes great and continues to make you feel good the next day, try a shrub cocktail.

It’s easy! Start with your favorite shrub, mix in an equal amount of alcohol, and top off with soda water to taste.

Our Name

Our name references the fractured light through the forest canopy one can observe during mid-day. In Montana, where we are still creating shrubs, there is an abundance of these light rays called shivelight. Our desire is to turn this optic inspiration into a drinking experience. By meticulously mixing the agriculture provided by our pristine landscape into a pure shrub beverage, we hope that you too can enjoy the gifts of nature.

At Shivelight, we are confident that our shrubs are world class quality. Our time-tested method and thoughtfully sourced recipes are something that will never change. We invite you to take part in our story as you are transported to an enchanted forest where the light beams through the trees and warms your heart for years to come!

Our Flavors

We invite you on an agricultural and tasting adventure. Our first flavor is the Ginger Honey shrub. We source our ginger from a local hot spring here in Montana. Immediately after harvest, we press the raw ginger and combine it with Montana knapweed honey and organic apple cider vinegar. After a touch of water is added to balance the vinegar, it is mixed and is ready to consume, simple as that.

The Huckleberry shrub is our best selling shrub. It’s unique and tart, showcasing freshly squeezed huckleberries sourced from the Rocky Mountains. Huckleberries are only found wild, and highly treasured in the Pacific Northwest.

Our Flathead Cherry shrub is made from cherries harvested from the shores of Flathead Lake, the largest lake west of the Mississippi. These cherries have garnered fame as some of the best in the world!

Last, but not least, we have the Bitterroot Apple & Cinnamon shrub containing apples sourced from the base of a mountain where the Lewis and Clarke expedition took place. The Bitterroot apples are combined with a pinch of cinnamon for a classic apple flavor.
